ST. PATRICK´S DAY 2020





TRABAJO FINAL PHONICS (5 AÑOS)

 Y una vez terminados los cursos de formación de verano os dejo el trabajo final de phonics de los peques de 5 años; este verano recargaremos pilas y volveremos en septiembre con más juegos y actividades para seguir trabajando con los peques, ¡feliz verano a todos!

BRITISH WEEK

 La semana pasada celebramos en el cole la semana británica, entre las muchas actividades que realizamos os dejo fotos de una en la que 4 niños de 5 años subieron a secundaria a hablarles a los alumnos de su familia, otra en la que los niños de secundaria bajaron a la clase de 4 años a explicarles unos experimentos y el desayuno británico que degustamos el miércoles.

PHONICS

 Como os expliqué ayer en la reunión, este año estamos llevando a cabo un proyecto sobre el método phonics, que consiste en enseñar a los niños los distintos sonidos en inglés por grupos. Hasta ahora no habíamos tenido suficientes sonidos como para formar muchas palabras, pero ya en cinco años que llevamos 9 de los 18 sonidos que aprenderemos están empezando a divertirse formando palabras, aquí tenéis algunas imágenes, y pronto pondremos más...

ST. VALENTINE

 Hola a todos,  
Para empezar a trabajar el día de San Valentín habéis visto que hoy han llevado a casa vuestros hijos un corazón para formar caras, os dejo algunos ejemplos de cómo podrían quedar.

PEACE DAY

 ¡Hola a todos!

 Con motivo del día de la Paz que celebraremos en el cole la semana que viene hoy vuestros niños han llevado a casa una paloma, la paloma se tendrá que recortar y montar, y tendría que estar en el cole antes del miércoles 28, para que las podamos utilizar en el acto de la paz que tendremos.

HOMEWORK 2º TRIMESTRE

¡Feliz año nuevo a todos! Y bienvenidos al cole de nuevo, que ya teníamos ganas :) Como habéis visto hemos empezado fuerte, hoy han llevado vuestros hijos a casa el homework para trabajar la fila 1 hasta el viernes 16 de Enero, que es cuando tendréis que devolverlo. Recordad que sólo hay que trabajarlo un par de veces, una cada semana. Las fechas del homework de este trimestre serán las siguientes:
SEGUNDO TRIMESTRE
• Del 8 al 16 de Enero: Fila 1
• Del 26 de Enero al 6 de Febrero: Fila 2
• Del 16 al 26 de Febrero: Fila 3
• Del 9 al 20 de Marzo: Fila 4
El audio como sabéis está en Qualitas, pero si alguien lo necesita y no lo puede bajar de Qualitas me lo puede pedir sin problema, ya sabéis que los lunes de 18:30 a 19:30 estoy en el cole en el aula de psicomotricidad para lo que necesitéis.

PRE-THANKSGIVING AND TEDDY BEAR (4 años)

 Esta semana en las clases de 4 años hemos estado haciendo las caretas de una historia que nos ha contado nuestra auxiliar Lacey, las hemos coloreado y algunas se han recortado en clase y otras como no ha dado tiempo se han recortado en casa, aquí os dejamos unas fotos para que veáis que bien lo pasamos.




También habéis visto que todos los niños han llevado esta semana unas hojas de thanksgiving para traer al cole y decorar las clases, thanksgiving lo celebraremos el próximo jueves 27, así que hasta entonces podéis traerlas... además si alguien quiere traer algo más de decoración será bienvenido al igual que en Halloween, y recordad ponedle el nombre si lo queréis de vuelta.

MACKEY (3 años)

 La semana pasada los peques de 3 años se llevaron a casa la careta de Mackey, nuestro nuevo amigo, aquí tenéis algunos momentos divertidos con ellos:

More Halloween

 Como sabéis, esta semana hemos estado celebrando Halloween... Antes de nada os queremos agradecer vuestra ayuda con la decoración, que como habéis visto ha quedado genial. Se han decorado puertas, columnas, ventanas,... Incluso algunos nos hemos probado unas caretas "de miedo"...

 Para que no os perdáis detalle aquí os dejamos fotos de todo, ¡disfrutad! y pasad un buen puente :)

 Hola a todos,
Para empezar a trabajar Halloween os vamos a pedir un poco de ayuda, mañana miércoles día 22 llevarán a casa una hoja para trabajar, que deben colorear y recortar con vuestra ayuda y traer cuanto antes a clase. Si alguien quiere traer algo más referente a Halloween será bien recibido, pero recordad ponerle el nombre si lo queréis de vuelta.

Hola a todos,

El martes vuestros niños/as llevarán a casa la hoja del homework, para trabajar la segunda fila del martes 14 de Octubre que se la entregarán en clase, hasta el viernes 24 de Octubre que se les recogerá. El audio lo encontraréis en Qualitas. Si alguien tiene alguna duda sobre como trabajarlo, tiene problemas para descargar el audio y quiere que se lo grabe en un usb o necesita algo me puede encontrar los lunes de 6:30 a 7:30 en el aula de psicomotricidad.

MASKS

Esta semana los niños de 4 y 5 años han llevado a casa unas caretas, con estas caretas hemos escuchado en clase un cuento y una canción muy graciosos, en cuatro años sobre un perrito: "Waggy" y en 5 años sobre un conejito que se quedó a vivir en una pequeña casita del bosque.

HOMEWORK

Hola a todos,

 El lunes vuestros niños/as llevarán a casa la hoja del homework, para trabajar la primera fila del lunes 22 de Septiembre que se la entregarán en clase, hasta el viernes 3 de Octubre que se les recogerá. Algunos ya sabéis como trabajar con ella, pero para los que no lo saben os voy a pegar la carta que recibirán el lunes como explicación. Aún así si alguien sigue con dudas me puede encontrar los lunes de 6:30 a 7:30 en el aula de psicomotricidad y le explicaré el funcionamiento.

Estimados padres y madres:

Por la presente deseamos informarles sobre el modo en el que deben trabajar el HOMEWORK con sus hijos.
Esta tarea es clave para el desarrollo de la discriminación auditiva y la pronunciación, permite sacar el inglés del contexto del aula (reforzando el trabajo allí realizado) y les da a ustedes la oportunidad de percibir la evolución en el inglés de sus hijos.

El HOMEWORK es una hoja de vocabulario para cada trimestre que les entregaremos a vuestros hijos para que lo lleven a casa y allí trabajar la pronunciación; consta de 4 filas, cada fila tiene asignado un audio que subiré a la plataforma Qualitas y que deberán descargarse para escucharla y trabajarla. El alumno, ayudado por el adulto, debe visualizar el vocabulario correspondiente y repetir cada una de las palabras después de escucharla dos veces. Una vez terminado el ejercicio, el adulto debe evaluar la pronunciación del niño (rellenando las caritas con los siguientes colores según sea la pronunciación del niño: VERDE- Correcta; AMARILLO- Regular; ROJO- No la pronuncia). Es importante que el adulto sea sincero a la hora de evaluar la pronunciación del niño para colaborar realmente a su aprendizaje.

Para trabajar cada fila contarán con dos semanas, por lo que el ejercicio se puede realizar dos veces (una vez cada semana) para así afianzarlo. La temporalización de las distintas filas durante el primer trimestre quedará de la siguiente manera:

PRIMER TRIMESTRE
·         Del 22 de septiembre al 3 de Octubre: Fila 1
·         Del 14 al 24 de Octubre: Fila 2
·         Del 4 al 14 de Noviembre: Fila 3
·         Del 24 de Noviembre  al 5 de Diciembre: Fila 4

Siempre se entregarán las hojas el primer día que se van a trabajar y se recogerán en el cole el último día fijado para trabajarlas. Para recordarles las fechas tendrán carteles en los tablones de las clases y además se publicará un evento en Qualitas y en el blog donde además aparecerá la hoja para imprimirla en caso de extraviarla y el audio.

Para la realización de esta fundamental rutina les recomendamos que establezcan un día determinado y un lugar apropiado y silencioso para la audición de las diferentes pistas. No hace falta más. Sus hijos también trabajan el vocabulario y la pronunciación en el aula.
Para resolver cualquier duda con respecto al HOMEWORK, no duden en preguntarme, los lunes de 6:30 a 7:30. Atentamente

 Ayer celebramos el día de San Patricio, como visteis los niños llevaron a casa unas manualidades muy chulas, y a la hora de recogerlos las puertas estaban adornadas con tréboles.

Mini teatros en inglés

 Esta última semana, aprovechando la jornada de puertas abiertas del cole hemos preparado unos mini teatros en inglés con los niños de 5 años. Los mini teatros consistían en conversaciones cortas hechas por cuatro parejas de cada clase; los niños que han actuado lo han hecho genial, se han disfrazado y se han aprendido las frases que tenían que decir muy rápidamente porque es algo que habíamos practicado antes en clase.
La experiencia nos ha gustado muchísimo, ya que además de divertirnos mucho, hemos aprendido un montón, así que no dudaremos en volver a repetir mini teatros en el futuro con otros niños; aquí os dejo algunas fotos para que nos veáis... (en cuanto encuentre a alguien que me ayude a subir los vídeos que hemos grabado tapándole las caras a los niños, lo haré también ;-) )

THREE STORIES TALES

Esta semana pasada en clase, hemos aprendido unos cuentos muy chulos, aquí os los dejo:

 "Little Bunny and the Crocodile" (3 años)
Once upon a time, there was a bunny who lived all by herself on a small island. Since she had no other rabbits to play with, she was very lonely. Across the water was a big island that was filled with rabbits. Little Bunny spent her days watching the other rabbits, wishing she could be playing with them.
One day, Little Bunny saw a crocodile on the beach and she thought maybe he could help her. Little Bunny hopped up to the crocodile and said, "Mr. Crocodile, you swim all day in the water and I play all day on my island, I wonder which one of us has the most friends."
"Oh, I have more friends," said Mr. Crocodile. "If you lined up all your friends, would they reach all the way to the other island?" asked Little Bunny. "Yes," said Mr. Crocodile. "I will show you." "Oh! you do have many friends," said Little Bunny. "But just to make sure you have more friends than I do, I'd better count them."
Little Bunny hopped onto the back of the crocodiles and started counting, "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight." When Little Bunny reached the last crocodile, she hopped off to the other island and soon she was surrounded by many new rabbit friends.
Mr. Crocodile saw so many rabbits and said: "I was wrong, Little Bunny. You are the one who has more friends. You are a very lucky little bunny." "Yes, I am!" said Little Bunny.

 "Duncan The Dancing Duck" (4 años):
One day a little duck started dancing in a pond. The other little ducks looked at him and laughed. But their mother didn't think it was funny. Mother said: "Please Duncan, stay in line with your brothers and sisters." But Duncan was having too much fun.
He danced out of the pond and all around the farm. Everybody saw him and stayed just where they were, so Duncan went on dancing into the farm house. "Well, well, what do we have here?" asked the farmer. "It looks like a dancing duck," said the farmer's wife. They watched Duncan dance from room to room without bumping into anything.
"He's good," said the farmer. "Let's take Duncan to town in our red truck," said the farmer's wife. They took him to a place with bright lights and people going in to see a show.
"Now get out there and do your stuff," said the farmer. Duncan danced on stage, and everybody liked him, "Hooray for the dancing duck!" They shouted.
The judges gave Duncan a Golden Duck Award. "Thank you," said Duncan and he started dancing. And whe he got tired he went back with the farmer and his wife to the farm.
Duncan hurried to the pond. All he wanted now was to swim, swim, swim with his family.
His mother said, "Welcome home Duncan. You're a good duck and I am proud of you. Now please stay in line." Duncan was so happy that he did one more dance just for his mother.

 "Goldilocks and the three bears" (5 años):
Once upon a time, three bears lived in a small house in the woods.  There was a big Papa Bear, a middle-sized Mama Bear and a little Baby Bear.
            One sunny morning, Papa Bear said:
            PB: Let’s take a walk before breakfast.
            MB: Good idea! Our oatmeal is too hot to eat.
            BB: Maybe we can find some berries to eat with our oatmeal.
            So they put their bowls on the table and walked out the door.
     While the bears were gone, a little girl named Goldilocks came to their house. She had wandered far from her home on the other side of the woods.
            G: What a pretty little house! I wonder who lives here.
            She knocked several times, opened the door and entered.
            G: Oh, look! Breakfast is on the table and I’m hungry.
            First, Goldilocks tasted the oatmeal in the great big bowl.
            G: This is much too hot!
            Then, she tasted the oatmeal in the medium-sized bowl.
            G: This is much too cold!
            Finally, Goldilocks tasted the oatmeal in the little baby bowl.
            G: This is just right!
            Goldilocks ate all the oatmeal in the little baby bowl.
            She wanted to sit down, so she walked over to the big chair and she sat in it.
            G: This chair is too hard!
            So she tried the middle-sized chair.  She sat in it.
            G: This chair is too soft!
            At last, Goldilocks sat in the little baby chair.
            G: This chair is just right!
            Just then the little baby chair broke into pieces.  Goldilocks jumped up and tipped the chair over.  She walked toward the bed.
            G: I’m tired after my long walk.  Maybe I’ll take a nap.
            So Goldilocks climbed up onto the great big bed and peered over the edge.
            G: This bed is much too high!
            Next she tried the medium-sized bed.
            G: This bed is much too low!
            Finally, she climbed onto the little baby bed.
            G: This bed is just right!
            The baby bed was so cozy, that Goldilocks fell asleep. She was still sleeping when the three bears got home. They were very hungry, so as soon as they entered, they walked toward the table.
            PB: Somebody’s been eating my oatmeal.
            MB: Somebody’s been eating my oatmeal.
            BB: Somebody’s been eating my oatmeal, and it’s all gone!
            The poor little Baby Bear cried as they walked toward their chairs.
            PB: Somebody’s been sitting in my chair.
            MB: Somebody’s been sitting in my chair.
            BB: Somebody’s been sitting in my chair, and has broken it in little pieces.
            Baby Bear cried as the bears turned and looked to their beds.
            PB: Somebody’s been sleeping in my bed.
            MB: Somebody’s been sleeping in my bed.
            BB: Somebody’s been sleeping in my bed, and there she is!
            Goldilocks woke up when Baby Bear screamed. She jumped out of bed, ran out the door, and didn’t stop running until she got home. That was the last time Goldilocks ever wandered into the woods by herself.

     Esta semana hemos celebrado Thanksgiving; los niños han aprendido mediante un video el porqué de celebrar este día:

    En clase hemos hecho unas fichas muy divertidas sobre thanksgiving; además hemos hecho unas plumas muy especiales, en las que los niños han puesto sus nombres y que luego las seños hemos pegado a un pavo gigante, en el que dábamos gracias por todos los niños que tenemos en clase :)

    Luego como visteis el pavo lo colgamos fuera para que lo vieran bien todos... En cuanto tengamos más fotos las iremos subiendo para que veáis como fue todo.

     THANKSGIVING

    Pues sí, la semana que viene, concretamente el jueves 28 (el cuarto jueves de Noviembre) es el día de Acción de Gracias THANKSGIVING. 
    Bien, pues este año para celebrarlo, entre otras actividades que tenemos preparadas los profes, os vamos a proponer algo; vamos a poneros aquí unas recetas que nos ha traído de EE.UU nuestra teacher Jacqueline, para que el que quiera las realice... requieren de un esfuerzo extra, ya que están escritas en inglés ;)
    A ver quien se anima...

     Stuffing Recipe (Makes 8 servings)

    · 1 (16 ounces) loaf french bread, cut into small cubes
    · 2 slices bacon, minced
    · 1 tablespoon butter
    · 1 large onion, minced
    · 3 medium stalks celery, minced
    · 8 fresh sage leaves, minced
    · 2/3 cup chopped parsley
    · salt and fresh pepper 
    · 1 large egg, beaten
    · 2 cups fat free chicken broth
    · 1/2 cup water
    · cooking spray

    Preheat oven to 350°.
    In a large saute pan over medium heat cook bacon for about 2 minutes. Add butter; when melted add onions, celery, parsley, sage, salt and pepper and saute on medium low until soft, about 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool a few minutes.
    In a medium bowl, combine chicken broth and egg.
    In a large bowl add bread and combine with sauteed vegetables. Add chicken broth and egg mixture and combine well. If stuffing is too dry, add a little water until you have the right consistency.
    Spray a casserole with baking spray, add stuffing and bake uncovered 35-40 minutes, or until golden.

    Cranberry Pear Sauce (Makes 13 servings)

    · 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
    · 2 ripe pears, peeled and cored, cubed small
    · 1/2 cup honey
    · 1 cup water

    Directions:
    Bring all the ingredients to a boil on high heat in a medium saucepan.
    When boiling, reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool before refrigerating. Serve chilled or room temperature. Makes 3 1/4 cups.

    Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes with Chives (Makes 5 servings)

    · 2 pounds (6-7 medium) yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
    · 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoon low fat buttermilk
    · 1 tablespoon light butter
    · kosher salt to taste
    · dash of fresh ground pepper
    · 1/4 cup fresh chives

    Directions:
    Put potatoes and in a large pot with salt and enough water to cover. Bring to a boil.Cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Drainand return potatoes to the pot.
    Add buttermilk, light butter and remaining ingredients. Mash until smooth. Seasonwith salt and pepper to taste.

    Gravy (Makes 8 servings)

    · 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    · 2 teaspoons instant chicken bouillon granules
    · 1/8 teaspoon pepper
    · 1 12 -ounce can evaporated fat-free milk
    · 1/2 cup water

    Stir together flour, bouillon granules, and pepper in a small saucepan. Gradually stir in evaporated milk and water until mixture is smooth. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 1 minute more. Serve over hot mashed potatoes.

    Roasted Parmesan Green Beans (Makes 4 servings)

    · 12 ounces green beans, trimmed (make sure they are dry)
    · 2 teaspoons olive oil
    · kosher salt + fresh cracked pepper to taste
    · 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    · 1 1/2 tablespoon shredded parmesan cheese

    Directions:
    Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum for easy clean-up.
    Lay green beans out on the baking sheet and drizzle oil over them. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder and toss to evenly coat.
    Spread them out on the sheet so that they all lay flat and place on the lower third section of your oven. Bake 10 minutes, shake the pan to turn; bake 5 additional minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with grated cheese.

    Sautéed Brussels Sprouts (Makes 4 servings)

    · 1 pound brussels sprouts (outer leaves removed and washed)
    · 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
    · 2 cloves garlic, minced
    · 1 shallot, minced
    · kosher salt and fresh ground pepper

    Directions:
    Finely shred the brussels sprouts after thoroughly washing. In a sauté pan, heat olive oil. Add shallots and sauté about 2 minutes, add garlic and saute until golden. Add brussels sprouts, salt and pepper and sauté on medium-low for about 4-5 minutes.

    STORY TIME

    Esta semana nuestra teacher Jacqueline nos ha leído unos cuentos muy chulos:

     3 años: PETER CRAYON
    Once upon a time, two little hands were playing in the garden outside their house.  One of them was named Righty and the other one Lefty.  When they were playing, a crayon named Peter passed by.  He was very sad because he had no one to play with, so his new friends invited him to play hide and seek.  Lefty had to find them.  The first one he found was Peter.  He surprised him by sneaking up behind him and giving him a big hug with his fingers as he said, “I caught you!”
    Some days after Peter Crayon had played with his friends Lefty and Righty, he invited them to skate at the park.  Peter wasn’t a very good skater, but his friends Lefty and Righty helped him stand up with their fingers every time he fell.


    4 años: THE SUN AND THE RAIN
    This beautiful spring morning, as with many others, Mr. Sun and Mrs. Rain were arguing about which one of them was more important than the other.
             “I am more important than you!” shouted Mr. Sun.
             “Without me, nothing would ever grow and everything would be dark and cold!”

             “No way,” said Mrs. Rain.  “I’m more important than you because I help the air to be fresh and nice.”
    They used to argue day after day.  Each one was very sure that he or she was the most important of the two.
    Mother Nature was tired of listening to their discussion, and finally she decided to teach them a lesson.  She sent the sun to one side of the world, and the rain to the other side.  At first, the sun and the rain didn’t like to be separated, but after a while they realized that this would be the perfect chance to prove which one of them was the most important.
    Before long, the land on the sun’s side looked dry and bare.  And on the rain’s side, it was terribly flooded.  When the sun and the rain realized what they had done, they were very sorry about being arrogant.  They went back and apologized.
             “We now know that neither one of us is more important than the other”, they said.
             “We need each other and the world needs both of us to help the plants and the animals grow.”
    Mother Nature was happy because Mr. Sun and Mrs. Rain had learned their lesson and became friends.  To celebrate, she decided to give the world a special gift.  Across the sky, she painted a beautiful rainbow as she said to them:
    “Whenever you decide to visit the world at the same time, in the same place, this rainbow will appear in the sky to show how happy we are about having the two of you.”


    5 años: SAMANTHA,THE STORY MOUSE
    One fine day at Colegio Salesiano Santo Domingo Savio the teacher and the children in her classroom were sitting on the rug for story time.  The children’s names were…(name the children in your class).

             Suddenly, one of the boys said, “Look, there’s a little house by the corner of the rug.”  “You are absolutely right”, answered the teacher.  “I saw it too.  Will you bring it over to me please?”  The child took the small house to his teacher.  She showed the house for all the children to see.  Suddenly, there was a little squeak and the door to the house opened. 
    Out hopped a small and surprised mouse.  “Hello,” she squeaked.  “I’m Samantha the Story Mouse.  And who are you?”  The children and the teacher introduced themselves to Samantha.  “Why are you called a story mouse?” asked a girl.  “Because my favorite thing of all is to listen to stories.  May I stay here with you?”  “Yes, yes, please!” shouled all the children.  “I do have one special request, though,” said Samantha.  “When I listen to stories, I like everyone to be very quiet so I can hear every word.  Is that all right with you?”  “Oh, yes, we’re very quiet when we listen to stories,” the children replied.  “Please stay with us.”  “Oh, thank you very much,” said Samantha.  “I know I’m going to be so happy here.  I’ll just sit down here by the teacher and we’ll all listen to today’s story together.”
    The teacher started reading, the children were listening attentively and didn’t notice that with every word the teacher read, something happened to Samantha.  Every word the teacher read made Samantha grow bigger and bigger and bigger!  Nobody noticed what was happening, until the teacher looked up and saw that Samantha was the same size as the children!  “What happened Samantha, why are you so big?” she asked.  “I think that I’m so glad to be listening to the story, that the words made me grow big with happiness!” she replied. 
    “Well, said the teacher, I think you’ll need a bigger house now.”  “Yes!  Yes!  She can live by the playground and come to class with us every day!” replied the children.
             So Samantha the Story Mouse found a new home and many friends.  Every day she came and quietly listened to the stories with the boys and girls.

    FOLLOW ME!

    Hoy os traigo una canción que está teniendo mucho éxito en las clases de infantil, la utilizo algunos días para premiar a los english speakers o para despedirnos.
    Esta canción nos sirve para seguir instrucciones, para aprender vocabulario, para hacer un poquito de ejercicio y para pasarlo pipa, atentos:

    HALLOWEEN

    Para estrenar nuestra pestaña de infantil vamos a empezar por recordar una festividad muy divertida: hace unas semanas celebramos en el cole la fiesta de Halloween. Jacqueline (nuestra nueva teacher – auxiliar de conversación) nos ha enseñado una canción “five little pumpkins”, también hemos visto vocabulario referente a Halloween (dependiendo de la edad más palabras o menos) y además hemos hecho unas fichas muy divertidas sobre calabazas o dulces de Halloween.
    En las clases hemos puesto un poquito de decoración de la fiesta de Halloween para que todos la recordemos y además algunas mamás nos han traído unas calabazas muy chulas (gracias mamis).  





    Pronto pondremos más videos y canciones para que los papis y mamis vean cómo vamos trabajando.
